Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club (SSMLC) has proudly partnered with the Peel District School Board since 2007, offering exciting volunteer opportunities for youth to earn community service hours throughout the year by supporting cultural and community-based events.

Volunteer Activities Include:

  • Cultural Talent Shows
  • Community Development Programs
  • Festival Celebrations
  • Theatre and Live Performances

Current Openings: 6 Positions

Job Specifications:

  • Must be a student in Grade 9 or higher
  • Eligible to collect volunteer hours
  • Minimum age: 15+
  • Duration: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
  • Languages: English (Hindi is an asset, but not required)

Swar Sadhana Music Lovers Club (SSMLC) has been proudly associated with the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program since 2009, providing meaningful employment opportunities for youth to gain work experience in the fields of culture, community engagement, and the arts.

Current Openings: 2 Positions

This position is being offered pending approval of funding under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Have been a full-time student during the previous academic year
  • Intend to return to full-time studies in the next academic year
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

Position Areas May Include:

  • Sales & Marketing
  • Event Coordination
  • Graphic Design / Multimedia Production
  • Administrative Support
  • And more, based on applicant skills and project needs

Job Details:

  • Start Date (Approx.): June 2, 2025
  • End Date (Approx.): August 31, 2025
  • Duration: 8–12 weeks
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Hours/Week: 30–35
  • Salary: $17.20/hour
  • Education: High school, completed high school, or post-secondary
  • Experience: 6 months or more in Indian arts & culture, or event management
  • Languages: English (Hindi is an asset, but not required)
